On 27 February, within the framework of AKTA’s Cyber Club activities, an educational seminar on cybersecurity was held at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
The seminar was dedicated to the topic “Overview of the Security Operations Center (SOC) Concept and ISO 27001.” AKTA expert Farid Huseynov delivered the presentation, providing detailed insights into the functions of a Security Operations Center (SOC), processes for monitoring and managing cybersecurity incidents, and the establishment of an Information Security Management System in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard.
The speaker also presented practical examples illustrating the application of ISO 27001 in real organisational environments, including approaches to risk assessment and the implementation of continuous monitoring mechanisms.
During the event, students actively participated in discussions, raising questions related to SOC operations, the practical importance of international standards, and methods for protecting information assets.
The seminar made a meaningful contribution to enhancing students’ knowledge of cybersecurity and supporting the development of their professional skills in this field.
