The inaugural event of the "Collaboration with Transnational Internet Corporations in the Fight Against Hybrid Threats" project has been held.

The first event of the "Collaboration with Transnational Internet Corporations in the Fight Against Hybrid Threats" project was held at Baku State University with the support of the Management Union of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

The aim of the project is to enhance digital literacy among youth, strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors in combating hybrid threats, and support the development of mutual relations with transnational platforms.

 

During the event, Elvin Balajanov, representative of the National Cybersecurity Center of the State Security Service, discussed the government’s measures in the field of cybersecurity and the main directions of the national strategy. Project leader, PhD in Law Tabriz Jafarov, addressed the risks posed by hybrid threats in the information space and the legal and practical aspects of countering them.

 

At the event, Dean Alakbər Aliyev of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics highlighted that the faculty trains highly qualified specialists in computer science, information technology teaching, and information security. Graduates of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics are successfully working in Azerbaijan and various other countries, holding high-ranking positions.

 

Fidan Ahmədova, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (ACOA), provided information about ACOA’s work and awareness-raising initiatives in this field. ACOA experts Lala Karimova discussed security standards of transnational internet corporations, while Rashad Aliyev spoke about technical security standards and cybersecurity hygiene rules.

 

Within the framework of the event, students were informed about current risks related to cybersecurity and hybrid threats, as well as effective approaches and technological solutions to address them.

 

At the end of the event, students' questions were answered.
