The Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) and Nakhchivan State University (NDU) jointly organized a training session on "Cybersecurity for Schoolchildren: Safe Use of the Digital World" at the English-Language Oriented Gymnasium under NDU.
The training, attended by students from various age groups, aimed to raise awareness about cybersecurity in the digital space, data protection, and proper usage guidelines.
First, the Director of the Gymnasium, Nazim Rahimov, delivered a speech, emphasizing that safe behavior on the internet, social media threats, personal data protection, and defense against network attacks are among today's key requirements. Considering this, he highlighted the importance of young people learning how to protect themselves and their information in the online world.
The Head of the University's Information Technology Department and ACOA expert, Huseyn Asgarli, stated in his speech that understanding the proper use of the internet and ICT, as well as ad
hering to cybersecurity rules, is crucial. These guidelines help identify and prevent potential threats against social media users in advance.
A member of the ACOA Cyber Club, Azerin Valiyeva, provided students with detailed insights on key cybersecurity concepts, including personal data protection, defense against network attacks, social engineering, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication.
Additionally, important information was shared on social media security, VPN usage, identifying dangerous websites and applications, digital footprints, and safeguarding personal data.
