The "Cyber Summer School" project, implemented by the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA), has been selected as the winner of the "OIC-CERT Global Cybersecurity Award 2024."
The "OIC-CERT Global Cybersecurity Award 2024" is presented by the OIC-CERT organization, a union of CERT teams within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to promote international cooperation in cybersecurity. It is worth noting that ACOA has also been a member of the OIC-CERT organization since 2023.
The winner of the "OIC-CERT Global Cybersecurity Award" is selected from a range of innovative cybersecurity projects submitted from various countries that contribute to strengthening the global cybersecurity ecosystem. Participants in the competition included government institutions, international and regional organizations, private sector entities, as well as civil society and academic institutions from different countries.
The submitted projects were evaluated based on criteria such as "concept and design", "impact", "value", and "delivery".
The award-winning "Cyber Summer School" project has been implemented since 2021. The primary goal of the project is to foster friendships among summer school participants from partner countries, identify and unite youth with knowledge, skills, and strong interest in cybersecurity both domestically and internationally, and support their development into specialized professionals in the field of cybersecurity.
