On June 12, the first meeting of the "Education, Awareness, and Human Resources Committee" of the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) took place. The meeting was held at the office of "Code Academy," a gold member of ACOA.
The meeting, attended by representatives from nearly 30 member companies of the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) and individual experts, was opened with a welcome speech by Elvin Balajanov, Chairman of the ACOA Board of Directors. He provided information about the goals of the expert committees established by ACOA. Subsequently, Ulvi Aslanov, founder and CEO of the "Code Academy," greeted the meeting participants. Rauf Jabarov, Deputy Chairman of the ACOA Board of Directors, provided details on the objectives and goals of the mentioned expert committee, as well as its areas of activity. Expectations regarding the committee's activities were also conveyed to its members.
During the meeting, the expert committee was formed with the participation of applicants for committee membership, and a vote was held to elect the committee's chair and secretary. Ulvi Aslanov, founder and CEO of the "Code Academy," who had put forward his candidacy for the position of committee chair, was unanimously elected as the chair. Among the two candidates proposed for the position of committee secretary, Emin Gadimli, CEO of "In4Tech," was elected by a majority of the votes.
During the participants' discussion, issues in areas that the committee should focus on were noted, and potential solutions were discussed. The participants emphasised the necessity of taking intensive steps to raise public awareness about cyber threats and to strengthen human resource potential by expanding collaboration between higher educational institutions and industry.
It should be noted that expert committees established by the ACOA Board of Directors are composed of experts representing legal entities who are members of ACOA, as well as independent ACOA experts, specialising in various subjects, sectors, and technological domains. These committees are structured for the purpose of sharing information in respective fields, discussing issues and problems, preparing proposals, recommendations, and documents, and presenting them accordingly. The decisions and proposals of these committees are taken into account in ACOA's activities and form the basis of the proposals and recommendations submitted.
