ACOA and ”OzunOyren” have developed and presented exemplary subject syllabi for the ”Information Security” specialization program to universities

BAKU, September 15, 2023 – The Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan and the "OzunOyren" platform have launched an initiative to compile exemplary syllabuses that meet the modern requirements of the industry for the implementation of the new educational program of the bachelor's level "Information security" specialty approved last year.

In 2022, on the joint initiative of the Ministry of Science and Education and the State Security Service, along with representatives of the country's leading higher education institutions and various state institutions, Azerbaijani specialists working in prestigious universities and companies of the world, including ACOA chairman Elvin Balajanov, co-founder of the "OzunOyren" platform Adil Aliyev The educational program was approved by the order of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 28, 2022, No. F-463.

In order to support the effective application of the mentioned educational program by the universities, to prepare the teaching of some subjects reflected in the program in accordance with the modern requirements of the industry, exemplary subject syllabi were prepared and presented to the relevant universities by ACOA and "OzunOyren" employees. For information, let's note that in order to determine the needs related to the teaching of the subjects, data was collected from the relevant universities earlier. Thus, for the winter semester of 2023, exemplary syllabi on the subjects "Information security and cybersecurity" and "Web security" were prepared and presented to universities. ACOA chairman Dr. Elvin Balacanov, expert in the field of IT law, ACOA researcher Dr. Tabriz Raufoglu, Microsoft engineer Farid Ahmadli and Samsung Electronics engineer Adil Aliyev participated.

In order to support the implementation of teaching on the mentioned educational program, it is planned to prepare sample syllabuses for other subjects in the future and submit them to relevant higher education institutions. In order to establish close relations between teachers, closely study the requirements of education and implement such projects together with teachers in the future, communication opportunities for teachers have been created on the appropriate platform.

As part of this initiative, it is planned to prepare online courses jointly compiled by local and foreign experts on some subjects taught at the bachelor's and master's levels in the field of information security and cybersecurity. These courses prepared by ACOA and intended for both teachers and students are planned to be presented to the public in the near future through the "OzunOyren" Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform.
