With the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) has successfully implemented the project "Development of Scientific and Methodological Teaching Materials for the Specialization in Information Security". The planned training seminars and presentation events for the prepared methodological materials within the scope of the project have been completed.
According to ACOA’s press service, as a result of the project, syllabi and methodological materials (collections of lectures) for three subjects under the “Information Security” specialization — "Fundamentals of Cryptography", "Security of Electronics and IoT Devices", and "Social Engineering" — were developed. The materials for "Fundamentals of Cryptography" were prepared by Professor Yadigar Imamverdiyev, Head of the "Cybersecurity" Department of the Azerbaijan Technical University. The materials for "Security of Electronics and IoT Devices" were prepared by Dr. Asif Ganbayev, Head of the "Information Technology and Technical Sciences" Department of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, together with ACOA expert Rashad Aliyev. The materials for "Social Engineering" were prepared by Police Colonel Orkhan Mammadov, Head of the "Operational-Investigative Activities" Department of the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Dr. Tabriz Jafarov, Head of Department at ACOA.
Between June 17 and 23 of this year, the materials prepared within the framework of the project were presented to a wide audience and relevant training sessions were conducted at the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku Engineering University, Sumgayit State University, the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The events brought together faculty members, representatives of ACOA member companies, experts, and over 500 university students.
The prepared educational and methodological materials can be accessed and downloaded electronically at the following link:
It should be noted that the project implemented by ACOA was carried out within the framework of the “Organization of Voluntary Activities in Education” grant competition announced by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2024. The project aimed to enhance the teaching content of the “Information Security” specialization in universities. Thanks to ACOA’s consistent projects in recent years, a total of six teaching materials for this specialization have now been developed and presented to the academic community.
