The Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTA) dedicated its first event of 2026 to "Governance, Risk and Compliance" (GRC) in the IT sector. Specifically, on January 8, a seminar titled "Standards for Management Systems in the IT Sector" was successfully held, a joint initiative of AKTA and the Quality Association, supported by CFECERT, a company from the United Kingdom. Primarily aimed at executives of AKTA member companies and AKTA experts, the seminar's objective was to inform participants about the implementation of international management standards in the IT sector, their integration capabilities, and practical benefits.
Within the scope of the event, presentations were delivered on key ISO standards encompassing information security, personal data management, business continuity, IT service management, artificial intelligence, and compliance. Omer Kılınc, an international auditor and trainer for IT standards at CFECERT, served as the seminar's lecturer, providing comprehensive information on the value generated by these standards, certification processes, and practical implementation examples. At the conclusion of the seminar, AKTA experts, particularly participants from the GRC expert committee, engaged in discussions regarding international trends in IT standards and GRC.
It is noteworthy that AKTA has identified several key objectives for 2026 in the GRC domain, particularly in areas related to cybersecurity. These include supporting institutional development within our country, enhancing specialist awareness, implementing international best practices, and strengthening risk management and compliance matters within AKTA member companies.
