One of the areas of activity of the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) is to provide multilateral support for the further improvement of the Republic of Azerbaijan's position in international rankings and reports on cybersecurity.

Due to ACOA's accurate portrayal of the systematic cybersecurity measures implemented in Azerbaijan in 2023, reflected in relevant metrics, Azerbaijan has improved its ranking by 36 points and advanced its position from 86th to 50th place in the rating table of National Cybersecurity Index, which assesses 176 countries.

Since September of last year, the methodology based on the newly evaluated criteria of the aforementioned index has been applied, and the assessment of 31 countries has been carried out so far. ACOA's research team also conducted research on new indicators and systematised and presented information on measures implemented in the country in the field of cybersecurity.

Thus, according to the new index, the Republic of Azerbaijan ranked 12th with 66.67 points in the rating table, where 31 countries were evaluated on 49 indicators. It should be noted that, this indicator is the highest indicator achieved by our country so far. Since, previously during 2016-2023, the highest score achieved in the index was 63.64.

In addition, the answers provided by ACOA for 32 of the 49 indicators on which the evaluation is based were fully accepted and taken into account in the assessment. In order to fully and objectively evaluate the activities carried out in our country on other indicators, and to further improve the position of our country, we are currently taking additional measures, as well as regularly updating the relevant information and submitting it for consideration in the index.

It is also important to mention that, the "National Cybersecurity Index" developed and improved by the Foundation of the Academy of E-Governance of Estonia is a global index that measures the readiness of countries to prevent and manage cyber threats in real time.
