Organized by the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA), efforts to expand awareness and human resource development in cybersecurity across different regions of the country are ongoing.
The initial initiative was launched in Saatlı district on September 16. During the presentation of the project, which will be implemented in the Central Aran region, an event attended by youth, educators, and representatives of public and private sector organizations, ACOA highlighted the importance of programming, network technologies, security, and cyber hygiene requirements. Detailed information was provided on the training of cybersecurity specialists. The event featured speeches by Rauf Jabarov, Executive Director of ACOA; expert Rashad Aliyev; Elvin Akhundov, Director of Cybersign and ACOA member; and Elgun Bakhtiyaroglu, a member of ACOA’s cyber diaspora.
It was announced at the event that a cybersecurity education project has officially begun in Saatlı. Elmir Baghırov, the Head of Saatlı District Executive Authority, appreciated ACOA’s initiative and declared their full support for the project.
Within the scope of the project launched by ACOA in various regions, youth from Saatlı and neighboring districts in the Central Aran region will be provided with modern curricula through the CISCO Network Academy, an international training platform specializing in programming, network technologies, and cybersecurity. The training will be conducted by ACOA’s expert trainers, who hold professional and international certification status. Participants will have unlimited access to the resources of the CISCO Network Academy. Upon completion, certificates issued by ACOA and the CISCO Network Academy will be presented to participants. Notably, based on an existing agreement between ACOA and the CISCO Network Academy, professionals who complete these trainings will be eligible for a 60% discount on international certification exam fees.
Furthermore, awareness-raising activities related to cybersecurity and cyber hygiene will continue in schools within Saatlı district. Students and teachers will receive essential information on cyber hygiene. It should be emphasized that this initiative represents ACOA’s first pilot project in the region and will be replicated in other districts in the future.
