A report event was held for the project "Development of Scientific-Methodical Teaching Materials for the Information Security Specialty," implemented by the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA) with financial support from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The project's report event, organised in a breakfast format, was attended by faculty and professors from leading higher education institutions offering the information security specialty, representatives from companies that are members of ACOA, and independent experts.
At the event, information was provided about the work carried out within the scope of the project. Elvin Balajanov, Chairman of the ACOA Board and Doctor of Philosophy in Law, noted that cybersecurity and information security are becoming increasingly relevant with each passing day. Highlighting that all relevant structures are working intensively in this direction, the Chairman of the ACOA Board emphasized that the demands of higher education institutions regarding both teaching-methodical materials and pedagogical staff for the "Information Security" specialty have become a public necessity. He stated that the implemented project has arisen precisely from these public needs.
Subsequently, Rauf Jabarov, Deputy Chairman of the ACOA Board, provided information on the project's role in specialist training. The project leader, Dr. Tabriz Jafarov, a Doctor of Philosophy in Law, gave participants a detailed report on the project's outcomes. He presented the teaching materials developed within the project to the attendees.
The event also included information about the cyber clubs established by ACOA in 15 universities. It was noted that these cyber clubs serve as a community for students specialising in information security. Seminars with leading experts in the field will be held for the students, cyber competitions will be organised, and inter-university experience exchanges will be facilitated.
During the event, representatives from higher education institutions shared their thoughts on the information security specialty and specialist training, leading to engaging discussions. The event continued in a format that facilitated dialogue between the academic field and the industry. At the end of the event, participants shared their ideas and future perspectives on the development of the information security specialty in our country.
It should be noted that the project "Development of Scientific-Methodical Teaching Materials for the Information Security Specialty" is being carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Science and Education's "Organisation of Voluntary Activities in Education" grant competition and was initiated on December 20, 2023.
