Within the framework of the “Shine with Your Rights!” project, awareness-raising activities were held on 11–22 August for 350 students in the cities of Baku, Lankaran, Ganja, Mingachevir, and Shirvan, as well as in the districts of Saatli and Ismayilli. During the events, ACOA experts provided children with training on cyber hygiene rules.
The “Shine with Your Rights!” project was implemented under the main organization of the “Regional Development” Public Union, in partnership with the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (ACOA), the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Science and Education, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, and with the financial support of “Nar.”
As part of the project seminars, experts from the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered sessions on the legal aspects of ensuring a safe internet environment for children and existing threats; representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about the prevention of harmful habits and the consequences of early marriages; experts from the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health addressed the impact of harmful habits on the human body; while ACOA experts — Lala Karimova, Elmar Babayev, Elay Aliyev, Aida Mustafayeva, Zaur Huseynov, and Asude Abdurrahmanova — conducted interactive training sessions on protecting children from harmful practices in the online environment, including the topic of cybersecurity.
