On July 24, the international summer school "Cyber Summer School - 2023" commenced its opening event at the "Bilgah" Recreation Center of the State Security Service. This event is designed for schoolchildren and teenagers aged 12 to 16 years. The summer school, organized by the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan and sponsored by "Azerconnect LLC," "Caspel," "Cyberpoint," "Techpro DC," and "Huawei Technologies," has also partnered with "Gesco," "A2Z Technologies," "CISCO," and "Azerobot" companies. The program will take place at the Baku Higher Oil School and will run until July 30.
The opening event featured speeches from management officials of the aforementioned enterprises. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to explore the technological solutions and services offered by "Caspel," "Cyberpoint," "Techpro DC," "Huawei," "A2Z Technologies," "Cisco," and "Azerobot" companies.
The "Cyber Summer School - 2023" is an annual event that offers cybersecurity training, technological tours and a knowledge competition (CTF) for participants. This year, the program has expanded its scope and international reach. Teenagers from Azerbaijan, Israel, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, totaling 125 participants are attending the summer school, which will continue until July 30.
The international summer school, which will be organized in English on a free basis is attended by people aged 12-16, who have the necessary knowledge of English and information technologies and who passed the competition. The training and practical seminars organized at the Baku Higher Oil School will be conducted by experts in the field of Azerbaijan, Israel and Turkiye. In general, during the duration of the summer school, more than 20 trainings and practical seminars on various aspects of cybersecurity will be held by 20 trainers, and at the end a knowledge competition (CTF) will be held among the summer school participants.
Since 2021, the main purpose of the project, which is held annually as a tradition is to foster friendship among participants from partner countries and to develop their knowledge, skills and passion in cybersecurity. The project aims to identify talented youth with a special interest in cybersecurity and bring them together both nationally and internationally. Additionally, it seeks to support their development as specialized cybersecurity professionals.
