The final event of the social campaign titled "Protecting Children from Harmful and Dangerous Information in a Digital Society," organized by the "Regional Development" Public Union in partnership with the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA), took place on December 25 at ADA University. The event featured a Debate Forum with the participation of experts, students, and parents.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of ACOA’s board of directors, Rauf Jabarov, and representatives from other partner organizations of the project welcomed the Forum participants and wished them success.
Moderators Azar Isali, Senior Advisor at the Ombudsman’s Office, and Tabriz Jafarov, Head of ACOA's Research and Development Department, briefed the attendees on the Forum's format. They also presented various case studies addressing cybersecurity issues.
The Forum included discussions on topics such as "Protecting Personal Data for Parents and Children," "Safe Internet Usage Practices," "Cyberbullying," and "Ways to Combat Cyber Threats." Activities featured Q&A sessions, case discussions based on real-life experiences and stories of both successful and unsuccessful attempts to resolve cybersecurity issues, and expert-led dialogues on internet safety and digital rights. At the end of the event, active children and parents identified through the discussions were awarded in various categories.
The campaign aimed to educate children and parents about the correct and safe use of digital technologies and resources, thereby ensuring the protection of their rights. The project was supported by Nar and conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan, and ADA University.
